This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty period
The Structural Warranty applies for 5 years from the date your oven is delivered or collected from our workshop.
A repair or replacement provided under this warranty does not restart the original 5-year warranty period, except where required by law.
What the Structural Warranty covers
The warranty covers defects in materials or manufacture in the Pizza Oven Club precast structural components that cause a structural failure during normal intended use.
For the purposes of this warranty, structural failure means a failure of a covered component that materially compromises the structural integrity of the oven or prevents the oven from functioning as intended.
Covered structural components include the Pizza Oven Club-manufactured precast components forming the main oven body, including:
- the precast base;
- refractory inner dome sections;
- precast entrance and chimney structure; and
- reinforced precast outer shell.
The warranty applies to both the Pizza Oven Kit and the Ready-made Oven, subject to the conditions below.
Refractory cracking and thermal movement
Refractory materials expand and contract as they heat and cool.
Minor hairline cracks, shrinkage cracks, surface crazing and other small cracks caused by normal curing or thermal movement can occur during the life of a masonry oven.
These are not considered structural failure where they do not materially affect the structural integrity, safe normal use or intended function of the oven.
The presence of a crack by itself does not necessarily mean that the oven has suffered a structural failure.
If you are unsure about a crack, send us photographs and we will assess it.
Pizza Oven Kit — assembly requirements
The Pizza Oven Kit must be assembled in accordance with the instructions supplied by Pizza Oven Club.
The 5-Year Structural Warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect assembly, unsuitable support or positioning, modification of components, or failure to follow the supplied assembly instructions.
If you are unsure about any stage of the build, contact us before proceeding. Direct build support is available from Pizza Oven Club.
Curing and first firings
Correct curing is important to the performance and durability of refractory materials.
The oven must be cured according to the curing instructions supplied by Pizza Oven Club.
Damage caused by failure to follow the supplied curing process, including excessive or rapid heating during curing, is not covered by this Structural Warranty.
This applies to both Pizza Oven Kits and Ready-made Ovens.
What is not covered by the 5-Year Structural Warranty
The Structural Warranty does not cover damage or deterioration caused by:
- incorrect assembly or installation;
- failure to follow the supplied curing instructions;
- excessive firing, rapid heating or thermal shock outside the supplied operating instructions;
- misuse, abuse or use of the oven for a purpose for which it was not designed;
- accidental impact or physical damage;
- moving, lifting or transporting the oven after delivery or collection;
- an unsuitable, unstable or inadequately supported stand, frame or foundation;
- ground movement or movement of the supporting structure;
- unauthorised modification, cutting, drilling or alteration of covered components;
- use of fuels, accelerants or substances contrary to the supplied operating instructions;
- failure to provide weather or moisture protection where required by the supplied instructions; or
- failure to take reasonable care of the oven.
The following are also not covered by the 5-Year Structural Warranty:
- normal hairline, shrinkage or thermal movement cracks that do not constitute structural failure;
- normal wear and tear;
- cosmetic changes, staining, soot, fading or discolouration;
- decorative render, paint, coatings or other customer-applied finishes;
- decorative brick slips or similar finishes;
- removable cooking-floor pieces;
- ceramic fibre insulation;
- mortars, adhesives, sealants, mesh and other assembly consumables;
- stainless steel doors, thermometers, rain caps or other metal accessories; and
- stands, foundations, benches or surrounding structures not manufactured as covered structural components by Pizza Oven Club.
These exclusions relate only to our voluntary 5-Year Structural Warranty. They do not exclude any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Ready-made Ovens
Ready-made Ovens are assembled and finished in our Landsborough workshop.
The Structural Warranty covers the same covered structural components as the Pizza Oven Kit.
Damage caused during subsequent transport, lifting, positioning or installation by the customer or a third party is not covered by this Structural Warranty.
The oven must be placed on a suitable supporting structure and cured and operated in accordance with the instructions supplied by Pizza Oven Club.
Making a warranty claim
If you believe your oven has experienced a structural failure covered by this warranty, contact Pizza Oven Club as soon as reasonably practical after discovering the issue.
Please provide:
- your name and contact details;
- proof of purchase or order number;
- the approximate date of delivery or collection;
- a description of the problem;
- photographs of the affected area and, where useful, photographs of the complete oven; and
- information about when the issue first appeared and the circumstances in which it occurred.
We may ask for additional photographs or information about assembly, curing, firing, positioning or use of the oven so that we can assess the claim.
Because Pizza Oven Club ovens are large and heavy, do not return or transport an oven or component unless we ask you to do so.
What we will do
We will assess the information provided and determine whether the problem is covered by the 5-Year Structural Warranty.
Where a claim is accepted under this warranty, Pizza Oven Club will, depending on the nature of the issue, provide an appropriate remedy. This may include:
- advice and materials for an appropriate repair;
- repair of a covered component;
- replacement of a covered component; or
- another reasonable remedy agreed with you.
The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature, location and extent of the structural problem.
For an approved claim under this warranty, Pizza Oven Club will cover the reasonable costs of repairs or replacement components that we authorise, including reasonable freight costs for replacement components where required.
Please do not arrange freight, lifting, repairs, contractors or other work at our expense without our prior agreement.
Unless required by the Australian Consumer Law, this voluntary Structural Warranty does not cover unapproved third-party labour, crane or lifting costs, access works, removal or reinstatement of surrounding structures, landscaping, decorative finishes or other site works.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits provided by this 5-Year Structural Warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies available to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law may continue beyond the period of this Structural Warranty depending on the circumstances.
