01Position the base
Set the purpose-built base in its permanent location and fit the cooking floor.

Why this kit is different
The core oven arrives as a set of purpose-built prefabricated components, so less of the structural and insulating work is left to be created on site. The animation shows how the system comes together.
A complete core oven system
The main oven structure, insulation and core assembly materials are supplied together. The cutaway shows the layers that are already designed into the system.
Also included: entrance and chimney components, stainless steel door with thermometer, rain cap, mortars, adhesives, mesh and core finishing materials for assembly. Your final decorative exterior finish is your choice.
Plan the build
The specialist oven components, insulation and assembly materials come with the kit. Alongside them, plan for a suitable stand or frame, waterproofing membrane, your chosen paint or decorative finish, normal site preparation and basic DIY tools for the job.
The tools shown are examples of the type of basic hand tools used during assembly and finishing.
The build, simplified
Allow 15–20 hours of hands-on assembly for one person, spread over several stages while bonding and finishing materials set.
01Set the purpose-built base in its permanent location and fit the cooking floor.
02Build the six-piece refractory dome, add the ceramic blanket and fit the pre-shaped outer shell.
03Complete the entrance and exterior in a finish that suits your outdoor kitchen, garden or entertaining area.
Once it’s built
Start with pizza, then use the retained heat for bread, roasting and up to 18 hours of slow cooking from one firing.
Cook at high heat while the oven and cooking floor are fully fired.
Use the falling temperature and stored heat for bread, roasting and slower cooking.
The finished oven becomes a place to cook, eat and spend time together outdoors.
Cooking times and heat retention vary with firing, wood, weather and how the oven is used.
